There were highlights galore in 2016, with the Saints bringing out the trickery to score some outrageous goals. We've sifted through the season to find some of the year's best goals. Which one was your favourite?

Jack Lonie vs Port Adelaide, Round 1

Our first goal of 2016, and what a way to kick it off. All free in the pocket, Jack Billings found a fellow Jack in Lonie, who steadied and dribbled it home.

Sam Gilbert vs Collingwood, Round 3

Not the flashiest goal, but if you're looking for a quick summary of our Round 3 win vs Collingwood - this is it. Hitting the contest hard, Sam Gilbert continued forward to receive the running handball and goal. A major not too dissimilar to Gilbo's in the 2010 Drawn Grand Final.

Jack Sinclair vs Greater Western Sydney, Round 5

Classy Jack with a very classy finish. At the contest's feet, Sinclair was quick to snap up the loose footy, break away and dribble it home. You knew it was a goal as soon as it left the boot.

Jack Newnes vs Melbourne, Round 6

Pressure/10. Jack Newnes showed his inner Cristiano Ronaldo - pressing, forcing the turnover and soccering the goal. Newnesy also had the celebration to boot.

Nick Riewoldt vs Fremantle, Round 10

Talk about something out of nothing. How can Roo do that at his age? Actually, stupid question. It's Nick Riewoldt. Cramped for space and knowing full well he can't knee it through, Roo got that leg extra high to goal on the line.

Jade Gresham vs Carlton, Round 12

Breakin' ankles. Won't be the first time Gresh leaves an opponent needing crutches. Brutal sidestep for a freak goal.

Jade Gresham vs Geelong, Round 14

Clutch. Nothing more needs to be said. Sit back and watch again and again, and again and again.

Jarryn Geary vs Melbourne, Round 17

Goal - Jarryn Geary...wait, what? Not only is he stopping them at one end, he's now kicking them at the other. What a finish, too.

Nathan Wright vs Sydney, Round 21

A more well earned goal you won't find. Ruthless in attack, Nathan Wright was rabid - unrelenting to not only win the footy, but snap through the major.

Nick Riewoldt vs Brisbane, Round 23

Poetry in motion. Holmes, to Acres, long bomb, Riewoldt, goal. Beautiful to watch. Won't be last we see of an Acres storming clearance.
