St Kilda champion Nick Riewoldt has earned the maximum amount of votes from the coaches following his had-to-see-it-to-believe-it performance at Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The six-time Trevor Barker Award winner booted an equal personal best nine goals, from a career-high 21 marks – three off the all-time record – 12 marks inside 50 and 15 score involvements (most of any player in Round 23).

Star midfielders, David Armitage and Jack Steven, both received seven votes apiece from Alan Richardson and Justin Leppitsch following their dominant performances in the middle of the ground.

In his 150th game, Armitage was St Kilda’s barometer against the Lions, amassing 30 possessions (15 contested), 10 marks, eight clearances, five rebound 50s and four inside 50s.

Two-time Trevor Barker Award winner Steven finished off his season with another brilliant effort, this time accumulating 31 disposals – his 9th 30+ haul of 2016 – 15 contested possessions, nine clearances (most on the ground) and four inside 50s.

Experienced defender Dylan Roberton polled three votes after he gathered 23 possessions at 95.7 per cent efficiency, eight rebound 50s (most on the ground), four inside 50s and four goal assists.

Brisbane ball magnet Tom Rockliff earned two votes for his 37-possession effort, while second-year utility Daniel McKenzie capped off his strong finish to the year with one vote from the coaches.

Since earning a late reprieve against Sydney in Round 21, McKenzie has produced the brightest patch of his short career, thriving across half-back with his pace and penetrating left-foot. On Sunday, the Victorian collected 18 possessions and hit the target with every single one of those to underline his polish.

Geelong superstar Patrick Dangerfield has been crowned the 2016 AFLCA Champion Player of the Year. The Brownlow Medal favourite not only polled a record amount of votes (121 votes), but also won by a record margin (28 votes) from former Adelaide teammate Rory Sloane (93 votes).
