St Kilda has made one change ahead of Saturday night’s blockbuster against North Melbourne at Etihad Stadium, with Darren Minchington returning after a one week absence.

Minchington, who comes in at the expense of Jack Sinclair, didn’t play at any level last weekend after being left out of the side that defeated the Western Bulldogs by 15-points.

The 22-year-old had played the last five games before the encounter with the Dogs, for a total of ten this season – doubling his career tally prior to the start of 2016.

Saturday night marks a significant milestone for the AFL, with North Melbourne champion Brent Harvey breaking the games record of 426 held by Hawthorn legend Michael Tuck.

The Kangaroos snapped a five-game losing streak last Friday night by easily accounting for Collingwood at Etihad Stadium. Brad Scott’s side sit at the foot of the eight on 11 wins, two games clear of the Saints who are making a late surge towards September, ensuring this weekend’s clash is effectively an eight-point game.

Tasmanian midfielder Eli Templeton has been named as an emergency for the fifth week in a row, as he continues knocking on the selection door following sustained form at Sandringham.

Sinclair and full back Luke Delaney are the two other emergencies, with all three to play in the VFL on Sunday if not required on Saturday night.

In-form ruckman Tom Hickey will face All Australian Todd Goldstein in a crucial encounter at Docklands. The last time the pair met back in Round 7, Goldstein got the better of the duel, although he was far from dominant, with Hickey restricting his influence.

In that game in Round 7, St Kilda almost hauled in a come-from-behind victory after coming from 26-points down 10 minutes into the final quarter, before Mason Wood kicked a goal in the dying minute to lead the Kangaroos to their seventh consecutive win by seven-points.

Captain Nick Riewoldt was St Kilda’s best player in that game and comes into Saturday night in form following a standout effort against the Western Bulldogs where he kicked four goals from 19 possessions and ten marks. He has now kicked 27 goals this season, despite playing predominantly on a wing.
