Four Saints have been named in AFL Media’s Round 18 team of the week following Saturday night’s 15-point win against the Western Bulldogs at Etihad Stadium.

With Sean Dempster, Nick Riewoldt, Tom Hickey and Jack Steven all recognised, St Kilda is represented all over the ground, equalling their highest number of nominees for 2016.

Stalwart defender Dempster was named in the back pocket after he produced arguably the strongest performance of his season to date. The veteran collected 23 disposals (13 from intercepts) and ten marks in a dominant display down back.

St Kilda Captain Nick Riewoldt earned a spot at centre-half forward following his four goal haul against the Dogs. Despite playing predominantly on a wing this season, Riewoldt spent the majority of Saturday night close to goal where he collected 19 disposals and took an equal game-high ten marks.

Tom Hickey continued his excellent season, accounting for Western Bulldogs ruckmen Jordan Roughead and Tom Boyd. He finished with 34 hitouts, 18 possessions (10 contested) and six marks (three contested) – with his strong marking overhead standing out.

And once again, Jack Steven was selected in the midfield as he continues to firm as an All Australian. The star midfielder collected a game-high 39 possessions (14 contested), seven tackles and six clearances in another dazzling display.
